Popular Iko Nini podcaster Mwafreeka has opened up about his fallout with longtime friend and co-host Rapcha The Sayantist, claiming that fans were largely responsible for the rift between them. Speaking candidly during a recent episode of his podcast, Mwafreeka said that false narratives and exaggerated stories spread by fans played a major role in creating tension between the two media personalities.
According to Mwafreeka, the once strong bond between him and Rapcha began to weaken after fans started fueling unnecessary comparisons and rumors online. “People online kept twisting stories and creating drama where there was none,” he explained. “Personally, I don’t pay much attention to what fans say, but Rapcha does—and that’s where things started going wrong.”
He further clarified that there was no major disagreement between them but rather a growing misunderstanding fueled by outside voices. Mwafreeka expressed disappointment in how fans often take sides without knowing the full story, adding that their actions can easily destroy relationships within the entertainment industry.
Despite the fallout, Mwafreeka maintained that he still respects Rapcha and appreciates the creative journey they shared. “We built something special together. I’ll always acknowledge the impact we made,” he said, hinting at the possibility of reconciliation in the future.
The Iko Nini podcast, which gained massive popularity for its bold and thought-provoking discussions, has been instrumental in shaping Kenya’s modern podcast culture. Fans, however, remain divided—some urging the duo to reunite, while others continue to speculate on what truly caused the split.
Mwafreeka’s remarks have reignited public debate about the influence of social media on personal and professional relationships, reminding audiences that even strong partnerships can falter under constant public scrutiny.
