MP Oscar Sudi and Sam Mburu, husband of Governor Susan Kihika, On Saturday, October, 25, visited the home of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in Bondo to pay their respects to the bereaved family.The leaders arrived at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi, where Odinga was laid to rest, carrying fresh milk as a gesture of solidarity and condolence.
Their visit comes days after the revered opposition leader passed away, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire many across Kenya.
Ruth Odinga, the late leader’s sister acknowledged the visit on social media, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support.
She noted that just as her father attracted people from all walks of life, the family has continued to receive solidarity from leaders across the political and geographical spectrum.
“Today, we were pleased to host a delegation of leaders who came to pay their last respects to the Odinga family.Among them were Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki, Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o, Simba Arati, James Orengo, Governor Wilber Otichilo, and Hon. Oscar Sudi,” Ruth Odinga wrote.
She added that the family seeks to emulate the forgiving and inclusive spirit of Raila, welcoming everyone who wishes to honor his memory.
Raila Odinga passed away on October 15, 2025, in India while undergoing treatment. He was laid to rest on October 19 at his ancestral home in Bondo following a state funeral attended by national and foreign dignitaries.
Accorded full military honors, he was buried with his trademark hat and flywhisk, reflecting a life dedicated to public service and leadership.
The visit by Sudi and Mburu highlights the ongoing respect, admiration, and solidarity extended to the Odinga family during this period.
