Seven years of waiting, praying, and marriage have ultimately bestowed the blessing of motherhood on television news anchor Mary Kilobi, which she has finally introduced into her household. The award-winning reporter and wife to COTU secretary-general Francis Atwoli has given birth to a bouncing baby boy into her family, filling her home with joy and bringing happiness to her followers. ????????
Kilobi kept her pregnancy a secret, surprising Kenyans only after giving birth to a son. He was given the name Atwoli Junior, but family and friends also released his English name — Samuel, which means “God has heard.”.
The birth news came soon after, and Kenyans gave the new mother a warm welcome in congratulations. Congratulations poured in on social media, hailing the resilience of Kilobi for being strong and able for all these years. Gospel artist Annastacia Mukabwa, a friend to Kilobi, was also among the celebrants as she posted beautiful photos of the smiling new mum in the maternity wing.
For Kilobi, it has been a miracle, quite literally, in every sense of the term. She has waited since she got married, and for her, Atwoli Junior’s birth is not just a new beginning as a mother but also evidence of faith, perseverance, and optimism.
Her tale is a bitter reminder that delay is not denial — and that the greatest blessings often come when least expected.
