Police in Naivasha are investigating a bizarre incident in which the body of a smartly dressed man was recovered along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway with a wire around the neck.
It’s suspected that the man was murdered through strangulation before the body was dumped near Delamere farm on the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Last month, another body of a man murdered in a similar manner was found near the same spot with fears that he was killed elsewhere and ferried to the scene.
For the last couple of years, Naivasha has become the dumping grounds for bodies with police accused for some of the murders.
Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the incident adding that initial investigations indicated that the man was murdered through strangulation.
“From the look of things, the man was murdered elsewhere through strangulation before it was dumped on this scene along the highway,” he said.

A witness Sally Njeri said that they stumbled on the body of the man while on their way to work adding that he did not hail from the area.
“Some people claim to have seen a white car dump the body before speeding to Nairobi and this is the second time such an incident has occurred and it’s worrying,” she said.
Speaking earlier, the superintendent in charge of the Naivasha hospital Dr Angeline Ithondeka expressed her concern over the number of unclaimed bodies in their mortuary.
She said that the majority of the bodies brought in by police were never claimed, forcing the facility to dispose of them after the stipulated time.
“Police have in the past collected bodies murdered elsewhere and dumped in Naivasha and left them in our mortuary stretching our services,” she said.
She said that the majority of those murdered were young men adding that they did not have documents and police had to collect fingerprints for identification.
