Moses Mudavadi, son of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, made an honest woman out of his longtime partner Qillian Saiya over the weekend. Qillian is the daughter of former GSU Commandant William Saiya and former nominated Senator Naomi Masitsa Shiyonga.
The couple tied the knot in a traditional ceremony on Saturday, September 13, at the Saiya family home in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County. The wedding was a mix of culture and elegance, with orange and dark blue as the theme colours that dominated the décor and attire, creating a regal atmosphere.
Moses wore a dark blue traditional outfit with intricate embroidery, whereas Qillian shone in a mermaid-style dress with turquoise, red, and metallic detailing.
Guests also supplemented the vibrancy by mixing traditional and modern fashion wear. Traditional songs and performances echoed throughout the event as family and friends celebrated the union of two prominent families with strong roots in politics and security.
Several high-profile government officials graced the wedding, among them PS Beatrice Inyangala, PS Jane Imbunya, and Vihiga Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala.
After the ceremony, PS Imbunya congratulated Moses and Qillian in a heartfelt statement, wishing them a blessed and fruitful marriage.
“I joined family, friends & community to celebrate the pre-wedding of Prime Cabinet Secretary H.E. Musalia Mudavadi’s son and the daughter of former GSU Commandant William Saiya. The laughter, songs & prayers in Kakamega felt like a promise: unity, hope & love.
“I was honoured to share: ‘In the Bible, marriage was made and ordained in the Garden of Eden. You have made a Garden of Eden here today.’ Qillian, may your life together be as fruitful & steadfast as that sacred garden,” she said.
