Arbantone artiste Stanley, also known as VJ Patelo, has denied rumours that he is working on a music project with Diana Marua, the wife of singer Kevin Bahati.
Speaking at his Utawala home during a visit by YouTuber 2mbili on Thursday, September 11, 2025, Patelo said he was unaware of any planned collaboration with Diana.
“No, there is nothing like that. If something like that exists, I do not know about it. I do not know if people are planning for me to have a collaboration, but they should tell me because I have not planned anything,” he said.
Patelo explained that while collaborations are possible, he only takes part in projects that are well thought out and serious.
He said that working with Diana would only happen if she showed real commitment and the ability to meet his creative standards.
“About whether I can do a collaboration with her, it depends on many things. We can do a collaboration, but you know I do not take things lightly. I do not just do things the way people want. However, if she is serious and proves that she is ready and capable, then we can work on a song together,” he added.
He mentioned his past projects, including one with Munga Domani, saying such collaborations take time and effort.
He said he values planning and professionalism over popularity.
“Regarding Kenyan artistes, I can collaborate with any artist here at any time, but that question is complicated because in Kenya there are many artistes who are not serious. First, there are other songs we have already done, like the one with Munga Domani Mkadinali, which will be released soon,” he said.
Patelo added that he prefers to work with artistes who understand the industry and bring the right creative energy.
“But for me, I can only work with any artiste whose vibe is good and who understands how things work. I cannot work with someone who does not understand the industry. Only top artistes. There are artistes who are very tricky, I cannot mention them, but they exist,” he said.
