Residents of Ngano Estate in Kajiado West are living in shock after a woman was discovered dead in her house while her husband and children were away.
The deceased, identified as Divinah Okari, was a mother of four and a well-known trader at Kiserian Market.She hailed from Mosocho Village in Kisii County.
Her sudden death has left the community shaken and her family devastated.
According to neighbours, Okari’s husband had travelled upcountry with their children, leaving her alone at their mabati house.
Concern grew after her sister tried calling her for three days without success.
Fearing the worst, she visited her home and was heartbroken to find her lifeless body.
A resident narrated the painful moment and said that Okari’s sister had been trying to reach her on the phone, but she was not answering.
The resident added that when she came to check, she found her dead, and it seemed she had been gone for days.The shocking discovery drew a large crowd as residents gathered, worried about rising insecurity in the area.
Some locals pointed out that Ngano Estate lacks a police station, despite several recent cases of violence, including assault and murder.
One neighbour described her as a kind and welcoming woman and said her death had broken them.
The neighbour added that they no longer feel safe and insisted something must be done.
Okari’s body was taken to Ngong Funeral Home as police launched investigations into the incident.
Her death has left behind unanswered questions, a grieving family, and a community demanding urgent action to restore peace and security.
