Senator Karungo Thang’wa has condoled with his colleague, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah, following the death of his father, Isaac Ichung’wah Ngugi.The senator visited Ichung’wah’s home in Kikuyu, On Sunday, where he joined family and friends.

In a message shared on social media, Senator Karungo described the moment as one of prayer, reflection, and solidarity.

“Earlier today, I joined the family of Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah at his home in Kikuyu for a service in remembrance of his late dad, Mzee Ngugi.

He added, It was a moment of prayer, reflection, and solidarity with the family as we honored a life well lived and the legacy he left behind. May his soul continue to rest in eternal peace,” he wrote.

The late Ngugi passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Thursday, September 4, at the age of 105.

His death came just a week after he was discharged from Karen Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment.Tributes have continued to pour in from political leaders and members of the public, many of whom have praised Ngugi’s long life and the values he instilled in his family.

The Office of the Speaker of the National Assembly also issued a condolence message to MPs, describing the passing as a great loss and extending sympathy to the Kikuyu MP’s family.

Kimani Ichung’wah, who currently serves as Leader of Majority in the National Assembly, is a close ally of President Ruto and plays a key role in advancing the Kenya Kwanza administration’s legislative agenda.
