The University of Nairobi has been thrown into shock after a third-year student killed his roommate. The two argued over who should flush and clean the hostel toilet. The suspect has since been arrested.

The tragic incident happened at a hostel in Kikuyu, Kiambu County. The suspect, identified as Justus Otieno, stabbed his roommate Brian Wambui after a heated dispute.

Witnesses said the quarrel started as a simple disagreement about ablution block chores. Friends tried to calm them down, but the fight got worse.

According to reports, the suspect left the room after the exchange. He later returned with a weapon and attacked his roommate in cold blood.

Wambui was stabbed and collapsed as students watched in shock. His body was taken to PCEA Thogoto Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.

Police quickly moved in and arrested Otieno. He is now being held at Kikuyu Police Station as investigations continue.

Detective Omondi Ogola of the DCI urged students to embrace peaceful ways of solving conflicts to avoid such tragic deaths. The case has left many students and families shaken.

This heartbreaking loss shows how small disputes can turn deadly when anger is not controlled.
