Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto of orchestrating corruption in parliament, describing State House as the epicentre of graft.

Speaking during a church service on Sunday, the DCP Party Leader reiterated that Ruto bribed members of parliament to support his impeachment as deputy president in 2024.

“Nothing is happening in this country. It’s corruption everywhere. State House is the scene of crime of corruption. This week, over 6,000 people from Kiambu were called into State House, each pocketed Ksh.10,000 to change their stand on the Mlima narrative.”

Gachagua further argued that the government is trying to buy Kenyans’ loyalty ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“Take the money, but don’t do what that money wants you to do in 2027.”

Gachagua Links Affordable Housing to Land Grabbing
The former deputy president also cautioned Kenyans against buying government-built affordable houses. Gachagua argued that most of these houses stand on grabbed land, warning that buyers risk losing their investments once a new administration takes over in 2027.

“To be honest with you, don’t dare waste your resources buying those houses. In two years’ time, when the new government formed under the opposition takes power, all houses built by this current government on grabbed land shall be returned to rightful owners to start collecting rent,” Gachagua warned.

He further alleged that the government grabbed land belonging to the PCEA Church in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, and handed it to a private individual to construct commercial houses.

“I am also told his son has been given the go-ahead to build a stadium on this land. This stadium will be manned by the PCEA Church when we take over the government in the next two years. It is just a matter of time, things will be okay, don’t worry,” he added.

Gachagua also accused the government of ignoring insecurity in Mandera County, saying foreign soldiers from Jubaland had entered Kenya, terrorized residents, killed five people, and left seven others in critical condition. He questioned why the Kenyan government and the Commander-in-Chief had remained silent on the matter.
