President William Ruto has issued his voice on the ongoing scandal at the national health insurance scheme Social Health Authority (SHA)
Addressing a group of grassroot leaders from Kiambu County, the Head of State insisted that SHA must function despite the troubles facing it.
“SHA must work, and it will work,” read part of Ruto’s statement on official Facebook page.
He hailed the scheme stating that it has made healthcare available to all regardless of one’s economic standing.
According to him, the previous scheme, the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), was discrimibative since it only favoured people with income.
Thus, according to Ruto, SHA has brought revolution in the healthcare sector by making the country achieve the universal health coverage dream.
The President stated this in a statement after meeting the leaders from Kiambu at State House, where he highlighted the achievements his government has got so far in the region.
