Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli has issued a strong warning to criminal gangs and their financiers in Trans Nzoia County, urging residents to support law enforcement efforts in restoring peace and order. Speaking during a community engagement meeting, Masengeli cautioned locals against shielding criminals, emphasizing that such actions put the entire community at risk.
“Do not hide suspects because they are a threat to our security,” Masengeli said, highlighting the responsibility of every citizen to work with security agencies. He assured residents that gangs terrorizing the region are already under surveillance, and operations are underway to dismantle their networks.
The Deputy IG noted that while law enforcement is committed to curbing crime, community cooperation is critical in ensuring the success of security operations. He urged locals to provide information that could lead to the arrest of criminals who continue to disrupt peace in the county.
In a firm message directed at financiers, Masengeli warned that those funding and supporting criminal activities will be pursued with the same determination as the gang members themselves. He said individuals using their resources to fuel crime undermine security efforts and will face the full force of the law.
