Fresh details have emerged linking a long-standing property dispute to the murder of Komarock Residents Association Trustee Board Chairperson, Allan Kitavi.
Two people, among them Kitavi’s stepson, are now in police custody over the killing that has shocked the Nairobi community.
Just two months before his death, Kitavi had filed a police report at Kasarani Police Station, claiming he had lost important documents.
These included title deeds, a land allocation letter, a vehicle logbook, and his academic certificates.
Police are now investigating whether the loss of these papers was connected to the events that unfolded later.
Speaking to TV47, a close family member revealed that tensions over property had existed for years.
She recounted a disturbing incident from 2009, when she went to visit a plot linked to Kitavi.
There, she claimed, she was confronted by the suspect and his mother, Kitavi’s second wife who allegedly threatened her and warned her never to return to the property.
Out of fear, she said, she stayed away for over a decade, only returning after her husband’s tragic death.
On the night of July 31, Kitavi was found dead on the driveway of his second wife’s home in Thome, Nairobi County.
His body bore deep neck wounds and severe burns, suggesting a brutal attack. The discovery stunned friends, family, and residents who knew him as a committed leader and community advocate.
Detectives believe the property dispute and the missing documents may hold key clues to understanding the motive behind the killing.
Investigations are ongoing, with officers piecing together witness accounts, forensic evidence, and past reports to build their case.
