City Shuttle

A City Shuttle bus was set ablaze by enraged boda boda riders on Thursday morning following a fatal accident along Outering Road in Donholm, Nairobi.

The incident occurred after a motorcycle rider was hit and killed on the spot, sparking violent retaliation from fellow riders.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus driver was accused of causing the collision, though official investigations are yet to confirm the exact circumstances.

A viral video captured the chaotic scene, showing the bus engulfed in flames in the early hours of the morning.

This is not the first time boda boda riders have taken matters into their own hands after an accident. In the country, such incidents often lead to mob justice, where riders swarm the scene, harass motorists, and demand compensation. Failure to meet their demands frequently results in vehicles being vandalized or torched.

The trend has raised concerns over road safety and the rule of law, with many motorists fearing retaliation after accidents. Authorities have repeatedly warned against such acts of vigilantism, but enforcement remains a challenge.
