Kajiado North Constituency has undergone a significant restructuring of its police leadership to boost security and improve response to security challenges facing the residents.

Previously, all police stations and posts in the constituency were managed by only a single commander based at Ngong Police Station.

Following the recent changes, Kajiado North will now have two distinct police commanders, one for each of its two divisions which are Ngong and Ong’ata Rongai. This adjustment aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure more localized oversight.

This restructuring comes in the wake of unrest that disrupted Kajiado North on June 25, 2025, and during the Saba Saba protests, highlighting the need for stronger, division-specific leadership.

Kajiado North comprises of Ngong and Ong’ata Rongai divisions. Ngong Division includes Ngong, Oloolua, and Olkeri locations, while Ong’ata Rongai Division covers an area between Ong’ata Rongai and Nkaimurunya locations.

By appointing separate Officers Commanding Police Divisions (OCPDs) for each division, authorities aim to improve coordination, rapid response, and community engagement in addressing security concerns which had been raised by many locals especially during protests.

This new structure is expected to streamline operations, enhance accountability, and better serve the unique needs of each division. It is the hope for many that this move will increase the security status in Kajiado North Constituency.
