A disturbing video shared by police officer Sammy Ondimu Ngare has left Kenyans in shock and deep reflection on the rising cases of domestic violence. The clip captures a harrowing moment in a kitchen where a man is seen physically assaulting his wife, as their young son desperately tries to hold him back from further hurting her.

Ondimu, known for his bold stand on social issues, accompanied the heartbreaking footage with a powerful message. “This is exactly why some women choose to stay single. A man who raises his hand to hit a woman probably never raised his hand in class to answer a question. The poor child… In fact, the kid ako na akili kuliko hii ndume. SAY NO TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE,” he wrote in his emotional post. You can watch the full video here: Click to view.

The video shows the small boy, visibly scared, using all his strength to shield his mother from the blows. His innocent yet powerful gesture has sparked an outpouring of emotions online, with thousands condemning the father’s actions while praising the boy’s bravery.

Social media has since been flooded with messages calling for the immediate arrest of the man, with many insisting that domestic violence not only harms women but also scars children for life. “This boy will grow up with this pain in his heart. This is not how children should learn what love is,” one netizen commented.

Activists and human rights groups have once again urged the government to take tougher action against domestic violence offenders, warning that such acts leave permanent psychological damage on victims and their families.

The clip has also ignited conversations about parenting, toxic masculinity, and the need for men to seek help when facing anger or stress instead of turning violent.
