Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney has landed a new job at the Cape Media Limited, as the new Growth Strategy Consultant.

She is now expected to help the media company to achieve its goals of becoming the leading company with regards to the media industry, in terms of business and impact.

This big news was actually announced by Radio 47, which is one of the radio stations that are owned by Cape Media Limited.

As Farida Karoney joins Cape Media Limited as the Growth Strategy Consultant, it should be noted that her name is not new in the media industry.

She actually made her debut in the media industry in June 1994, when she used to work as as a freelance correspondent for KTN.

 

She then rose to become a reporter and finally a Features Editor, before she left the station in December 2000.

Farida Karoney then joined the Nation Media Group in January 2001 as an editor and then she rose to the rank of Associate Editor. She worked there until July 2004 when she left.

She then joined Standard Group and worked as the Managing Editor for a period of two years from September 2004 and August 2006.

 

According to reports, Farida Karoney then worked as a Freelance Contributor for Radio France Internationale from 2006 and 2007, and she also worked as freelance producer for Al Jazeera for 6 months.

In 2007, she went back to Standard Group and worked as the Head of Editorial and also served as the Assistant Director for Broadcasting.

Farida Karoney then left Standard Group and joined the Royal Media Services where she worked as the Group Editorial Director from 2009 to 2014.

 

She was then promoted to Chief Operating Officer at RMS in 2014, and worked at that position until in January 2018 when President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated her to the Cabinet Secretary for Lands.
