Millie Odhiambo, a member of parliament for Suba North, made people chuckle when she shared a humorous remark on social media.
She said that by getting up early and running in the Nairobi Women’s Run on Saturday morning, she was able to overcome ageing. Running alongside organisations like Supa Mamas, Nairobi Baddies, and Teule, as well as large corporations like Family Bank, Bamboo Honey, Biofoods, Laroche, Autopax, and Samsung, makes Millie happy, she said. For participating in the run and helping to make it a positive day for women, she praised them.
Millie joked with those who prefer to sleep in on Saturdays in a statement she sent after the run. She was saying that people can lose the person they want if they don’t wake up and take care of themselves.
Many others laughed at what she said, and some of them indicated they would now start getting up early to go for a run. Millie is renowned for voicing her opinions and humorously stating the truth. She expresses her feelings without fear. She is popular with many people, particularly ladies, because she is vivacious, strong, and honest.
She also emphasised the need of taking care of one’s body in her message. She demonstrated the value of exercise and running, especially for time-pressed leaders like herself. Being active, content, and self-assured are just as important as being healthy. Not all of Millie’s post was humorous. It learnt a lesson.
Stop sleeping too much if you want to feel young, look nice, and possibly find love. Get up, work out, and go about your day. In her own witty and straightforward manner, she was telling them that.
