Ndegwa Njiiru

A cloud of confusion engulfed the Milimani Law Courts on Thursday morning after a client represented by Advocate Ndegwa Njiru was reportedly whisked away by unknown individuals in a green Subaru, shortly after arriving at the court premises.

According to Ndegwa Njiru, the incident occurred around 7:00 am when his client was brought to Milimani but was not formally booked into the holding cells, raising immediate concerns.

“We are at Milimani. At around 7:00 am the client was brought here but held at the parking,” Ndegwa Njiru stated.

The situation took an unexpected turn at approximately 8:20 am when the client was reportedly picked up and driven off in a green Subaru to an undisclosed location.

“She was not booked at the Milimani holding cells. Instead, she was whisked away in a green Subaru to an unknown destination,” Ndegwa added.

The advocate, along with the legal team and supporters, were left stranded and frustrated at the court premises with no clear information about the client’s whereabouts or who took her. Efforts to trace her location or get official communication from the police have, so far, borne no fruit.

The incident has raised concerns about due process, legal transparency, and the rights of accused persons, particularly with regard to proper court procedures and legal representation. Ndegwa criticized the lack of accountability, saying such actions undermine the justice system.

Legal experts have called for a swift investigation into the matter, citing that forcibly removing a person from court premises without a formal process amounts to a breach of constitutional rights.
