A simple night of fun turned into a nightmare in Kisii town after a DJ was killed over a Sh200 song request. What followed has left locals in shock and demanding answers.
It all happened during a weekend party at a popular local club. According to eyewitnesses, the DJ had refused to play a requested song, allegedly because the person offering Sh200 was too drunk and aggressive. What started as a minor argument turned deadly within minutes.
Reports now show the DJ was attacked by a group of men shortly after the altercation. Some of them were seen leaving the venue in a hurry as the crowd scattered. The DJ, identified by locals as a popular entertainer in Kisii, was later found unresponsive with serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital but did not make it.
But here’s where the story takes an even darker turn. CCTV footage from the club allegedly went missing just hours after police began their investigations. Some witnesses now claim there’s a cover-up involving club staff and even people in uniform. Others are pointing fingers at individuals with connections in high places.
NTV’s true crime series Murder Tapes covered the case in its second episode of season 2, raising national attention. Kenyans online are now demanding justice with the hashtag #JusticeForKisiiDJ trending.
