The esteemed group was led by General (Rtd) Joseph Kibwana and comprised notable figures including Lt Gen (Rtd) Daniel Opande, Lt Gen (Rtd) Lazaro Sumbeiywo, Maj Gen (Rtd) Dedan Gichuru, Maj Gen (Rtd) Joe Musomba, and Maj Gen (Rtd) Okanga.

The visit served as a symbolic tribute to General Mohamed’s illustrious military career, which began in 1955 and culminated in his service as the 4th Chief of the General Staff from 1986 to 1996.

His leadership, mentorship, and enduring influence on the careers of many officers remain a benchmark within the ranks of Kenya’s armed forces.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, General (Rtd) Kibwana praised Mohamed’s integrity, strategic insight, unwavering dedication to national service.He emphasized that foundations laid by Mohamed continue to guide military leadership to this day.

In his remarks, General Mohamed expressed deep appreciation to his former colleagues for the visit, stating that the pursuit of national progress is intricately linked to peace and stability.

“I keep abreast with national affairs through the media, and I believe that Kenya’s growth relies on a stable and peaceful environment.

The challenges facing our nation today call for loyalty, vigilance, and selfless service,” he noted.
