Renowned gospel artist Emmy Kosgei has expressed shock and heartbreak following reports that armed goons stormed a hospital and disrupted a woman’s cesarean section procedure during the recent Saba Saba unrest.
The incident, which reportedly occurred at a medical facility in Nairobi, has sparked outrage across the country.
In a passionate Instagram post, Kosgei questioned how such a sacred and vulnerable moment could be violated. “Imagine being on the operating table, vulnerable, and then chaos erupts,” she wrote. “This is heartbreaking and unacceptable!”
The incident reportedly unfolded as protests turned violent, with groups of armed individuals breaking into public and private buildings.
Witnesses claim that the hospital was overwhelmed and surgical operations were interrupted, placing patients—including the woman undergoing the C-section—in extreme danger.
Kosgei’s comments come as several celebrities and human rights activists demand accountability and protection for medical institutions during times of unrest.
Many have called on the government to ensure that hospitals and health workers are safeguarded, no matter the situation outside.
Health officials have yet to confirm the identity of the hospital, but investigations are ongoing. The Kenya Medical Practitioners Board has condemned the incident and urged swift action against the perpetrators.
