Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit has raised concerns over the plan to build a church inside State House.

In a bold question shared with the public, Ole Sapit asked, “Will the President also be the Bishop?”

This comes after reports that the government plans to construct a church within the State House compound at a cost of KSh 1.2 billion.

The move has sparked debate across the country, with many questioning the need for such a project at a time when Kenyans are facing economic hardships.

Archbishop Ole Sapit reminded the public that the church should remain separate from politics and government affairs.

He emphasized that places of worship should not be turned into political tools.

Earlier this year, he had already cautioned leaders against using the church as a platform for political speeches and personal promotion.

His latest statement shows his continued concern about the mixing of faith and political power.

Many Kenyans have echoed the Archbishop’s words, saying the funds could be better used to support struggling families, healthcare, and education.

As the discussion continues, Sapit’s message serves as a reminder that leaders must be guided by humility and service—not by public displays of faith that may raise more questions than answers.
