Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has found himself in another huge trouble as the latest report from the Standard Digital now reveals that the police are under pressure to link him with the goons infiltrating protests.
According to the report by the same Standard Digital, since the violence during the June demonstrations, pressure has been mounting on the police to identify the financiers, with Gachagua as the main focus of the investigation.
While no evidence has implicated the former Deputy President in the violence, political pressure is driving the search for incriminating information about him.
Some of the mobilizers behind the troublemakers were allegedly paid in cash, but there is no concrete link to Gachagua thus far.
There are suspicions that the protests may have been manipulated for ulterior motives, with some government officials sceptical about the authenticity of the demonstrations.
As police investigations continue, the failure to intervene against the troublemakers during the protests has hindered the DCI’s efforts.
The possibility that orders were given to allow looting to occur without police interference has raised concerns about political influence in the handling of the situation.
Despite attempts to link Gachagua to the violence, current findings do not support this narrative.
Gachagua himself has raised concerns about a plot to arrest him following accusations from UDA and ODM leaders regarding his involvement in orchestrating the chaos.
