Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat has claimed that he had no involvement in the murder of Albert Ojwang’.

Following his claims, he has been completed to explain why he was in contact with Central Police station OCS Talaam, during the night Ojwang died.

The DIG was, however, compelled to clarify why, on the specific day Ojwang’ died, he had been in contact with Central Police Station OCS Samson Talaam.

In his reply, the DIG stated that Talaam was someone he knew personally and that this was not the first occasion they had communicated.

He mentioned that he frequently interacts with junior officers, including Talaam on various occasions.

In contrast, the police boss informed investigators from the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (Ipoa) that he was merely an innocent complainant and that his office was not conducting an investigation into the case.

He has shifted all the blames on the DCI who investigated and picked Ojwang from his Homabay home.
