In light of recent occurrences of police brutality and the justifications provided by senior police officials, a source has revealed how top police bosses are being used and protected by government.
According to a report from Saturday’s People Daily Newspaper, the source asserts that factions within Kenya Kwanza have been manipulating circumstances to exert control over senior police officials
Among those having deals with state house includes DIG Lagat and the DCI boss Amin.
More details revealed that these senior officials’ connection with statehouse have advocated for their appointments.
This is why the DCI boss still holds office past his retirement age since he’s using state house connection to extend his service.
It is alleged that these officers maintain a direct connection with statehouse forces, which complicates their ability to heed the directives of Inspector General of Police Kanja.
The source further noted that these officers are beholden to their benefactors, thus prepared to act in accordance with the interests of the government.
