However, details have now emerged on ethnicity growing within the police service pose as a challenge to Kanja in managing some of his subordinates within the National Police Service (NPS).
According to the source, there exists a group of rogue officers from a specific ethnic tribe (not disclosed) who are intent on undermining his leadership during his term.
Furthermore, the source pointed out that political interference has emerged as a significant obstacle for Douglas Kanja in executing his responsibilities.
According to the source, certain senior politicians from the Rift Valley region have been advocating for a candidate from their community to succeed him (Kanja).
It has been specifically noted that prominent political figures in Rift Valley are now advocating for Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Eliud Langat to take over from Douglas Kanja in 2027.
