Corruption within the police force have been exposed with challenges the Inspector General of Police (IG) Kanja, faces being revealed.
According to reliable reports from People Daily Newspaper, the senior officers don’t have any respect for Kanja as they take orders directly from the state house
The individuals within the police force assert that political influences, power conflicts, and a lack of discipline are undermining the integrity of the service.
Despite President William Ruto’s claims that the police are permitted to operate independently, certain high-ranking officers contend that this assertion is inaccurate.
Insiders within the police revealed that various factions within the Kenya Kwanza coalition have been manipulating the situation by exerting control over senior officers whom they allege to have supported their appointments.
A Senior Assistant Inspector General exposed that numerous officers have been appointed due to political motivations, and consequently, they are loyal to their respective political patrons.
Therefore, no one expect these officers to heed the directives of Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja when they can simply contact influential figures at State House directly.
