As reported by People Daily, Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has strongly condemned attempts by Kenya Kwanza to lure Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka away from the opposition.
Reacting to Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s visit to the Ukambani region, Mutula said the efforts were diversionary and meant to weaken a now united opposition.
He warned that Kalonzo and his allies would not fall for such schemes, describing them as desperate tactics to destabilize the opposition coalition ahead of 2027.
“We are aware of their plans to use money to influence some of our leaders, but they won’t succeed. They have previously tried to send emissaries,” Mutula stated stressing that Kalonzo’s loyalty remains firm and cannot be bought or shaken by political games.
Mutula maintained that the opposition is stronger than ever and vowed that any attempts to divide its leadership through backdoor negotiations or financial inducements will be rejected by the people and their elected leaders.
