Nyarari and Triza

Gospel singer and philanthropist Karangu Muraya has found himself at the centre of public controversy once again, following a tense encounter in Murang’a County.

After receiving a frosty reception during a recent event on June 11, Karangu took to social media in a 30-minute livestream to address the backlash and explain his actions to his followers.

However, not everyone believes that constant explanations are necessary—especially not his first wife, Triza Njeri.

Triza, who shares two children with the singer, subtly weighed in on the ongoing drama with a short but pointed message posted on her social platforms.

Written in Kikuyu, she advised Karangu to take a step back and remain silent, warning that the emotional toll from constant criticism could be overwhelming.

Her words, loosely translated, meant: “It is better to stay silent now… the pressure outside can kill someone.”

Karangu has faced a turbulent season filled with scrutiny over his alleged political affiliations, including public appearances with top government leaders such as President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

These associations have drawn mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, with many accusing him of abandoning his spiritual and philanthropic mission in favor of political gain.

Online, public opinion remains divided. While some sympathize with Karangu and admire his transparency, others argue that his need to respond to every critic is only worsening the situation.

Several netizens echoed Triza’s advice, urging him to guard his peace and avoid unnecessary confrontations.

Despite the storm, Karangu insists he will not remain quiet—but whether continued engagement will help or harm his image remains to be seen.
