Police Chopper

Several rubber bullet shots were fired this afternoon to contain a group of protesters enroute to parliament to stop the presentation of the 2025/2026 budget until justice for the late Albert Ojwang is served in totality.

According to media reports, police (as it was the case during last year’s Finance Bill 2024) have resorted to using choppers (maybe) to monitor how protests are progressing in the capital for additional security.

About 30 minutes ago, there were reports that one of the protesters has been seriously injured after being hit with a flying teargas cannister with Anti-Riot Cops having arrested a number of protesters.

Additionally, it is being reported that several shops in Nairobi CBD have closed down even though there have been no in incidences of looting as it was the case during Finance Bill 2024 demos in June last year.

All the same, The National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary, John Mbadi, is set to present the 2025/2026 budget before the National Assembly.
