The death of Albert Omondi Ojwang, a teacher and popular online influencer, has taken a grim turn following revelations from a postmortem report that contradicts earlier police accounts. Initial claims by authorities suggested that Ojwang died by suicide while in custody. However, an autopsy conducted by a team of pathologists has confirmed that he was strangled and violently assaulted prior to his death.

Findings from the autopsy indicated significant internal and external trauma. Ojwang suffered a broken nose, fractured ribs, and severe head injuries. There were also bruises on his chest and signs of blunt force trauma to his spine and lower limbs. The injuries were consistent with physical assault and suggested that he was subjected to prolonged violence.

Further investigations have corroborated the medical report. Site analysis and call data records (CDR) have linked six police officers to the incident. These officers are said to have been directly involved in Ojwang’s arrest and subsequent detention. Sources within law enforcement confirmed that the teacher was first taken to a central police station, where he was assaulted before being transferred to another facility.

It has also emerged that Ojwang was alive at the time of his last transfer. Witness accounts and data suggest he was further assaulted while in custody, leading to massive internal bleeding and eventual death. The presence of blood within his chest cavity and the condition of his lungs pointed to strangulation as the cause of death.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and other oversight bodies have now taken over the inquiry, raising concerns about an attempted cover-up by local police. Reports indicate the scene was tampered with, and inconsistencies in the officers’ statements have been flagged.
