Some few minutes ago, the Orange Democratic Movement, ODM party came out to make a major announcement concerning the grassroot elections just two years to 2027 general elections.
As seen from their tweet on X, Raila Odinga’s party has publicly announced that they will be conducting grassroot elections in Kwale county in the next few days. ODM says that the election at polling station level will start on June 21st followed by ward level on June 23rd and finally constituency level on June 29.
These elections by ODM are part of their preparations for the next general elections. Though ODM has not declared their presidential bid, they will likely have a say on who becomes the next president of this country.
Currently, ODM is in cooperation with president William Ruto and his Kenya kwanza government. However, political analysts doesn’t see this cooperation lasting for the next two years as some top bigwigs have clearly distanced themselves from the broad-based government.
