Ngugi is a major contributor to the country’s literature and his passing has left many Kenyans in tears.
The burial preparations have been going on with his family giving updates to Kenyans.
Latest reports from one of his sons have revealed that the renowned author’s body will not be flown to Kenya for a physical burial as many had hoped.
According to Mukoma, the professor’s body has been cremated in the US according to his dying wish that the family has upheld.
The family will then retain the remains of his body and do with it as they wish or dispose according to his dying wishes.
Ngugi will be remembered for enriching our literature for decades. His hard work has greatly develoed our understanding of literature as many students have read his books.
