When Maureen Kabu and her father, Simon Kabu, surprised him with a private helicopter ride at the Ngemi Festival, fans were in awe.

The two stole the show in matching Kikuyu traditional clothing, with Simon’s older headdress making him stick out.

Video from the event showed the two interacting with fans and influencers as they took in the cultural ambiance of the growing Kikuyu festival.

When Simon Kabu, a prominent city businessman, and his daughter Maureen came in elegance for the fourth Ngemi Festival in Naivasha, they garnered notice.

Arriving at the two-day cultural festival in a sleek, white luxury helicopter, the father-daughter combo, who are widely known as titans in Kenya’s tourism and travel industry, made sure their presence was felt.

The jet, which was painted in the colors of her company, Adequate Safaris, was part of a surprise Maureen had planned for her father.

Fans and partygoers flocked to see Maureen, the managing director of Adequate Safaris, and Simon, the CEO of Bonfire Adventures, at the landing site.

 

They celebrated their arrival and cheered. Among the two individuals dressed in stylish traditional Kikuyu attire, Simon stood out due to his ceremonial elder’s headgear.

Several recordings showed the couple enjoying the vibrant atmosphere while chatting with other guests and well-known influencers associated with their companies.

Kabu shared his pleasure on Facebook, writing: “Woooow! I thoroughly enjoyed today! It’s not my birthday, but at fifty-one, life is never truly serious.

The Ngemi Festival celebrates the rich combination of Kikuyu art, music, and culture and draws celebrities and cultural enthusiasts from all across the country. A number of editions are staged annually in various locations as the event continues to grow in popularity.
