Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi together with other three Azimio la Umoja Alliance legislators have been freed on a Ksh 50,000 after bleeding not guilty to unlawful assembling and destruction of properties during Azimio demonstrations early this week.
According to the Kahawa Law Court principal magistrate, Gideon Oenga, the four will be parade in court for further hearing on 3rd April, 2023.
This comes days after uproar from Azimio Camp to the government to have the four released without any penalty arguing that the lawmakers did nothing wrong on that day.
Speaking after the release of the MPs, Azimio affiliated lawyer, Danstan Omari expressed confidence that his clients will be finally free after 3rd April.
Omari claimed that the arrest and detention was based on false accusations canceling the allegations that the four were involved in breaking of a car window screen.
