The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has revealed plans to temporarily shut down the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) as part of a migration strategy to integrate all NTSA services into the eCitizen platform. The closure will last for three days, starting from Friday, December 29, 2023 (midnight), until Monday, January 1, 2024 (midnight).

In line with President William Ruto’s directive for government services to be accessed through a unified platform, the NTSA aims to streamline its operations and enhance efficiency by consolidating all online services into the eCitizen platform.

Starting from January 2, 2024, users will solely utilize their eCitizen login credentials to access NTSA services. To facilitate a seamless transition, NTSA has advised motorists to complete any pending transactions on the TIMS portal by Friday, December 15, 2023.

Furthermore, all eCitizen account holders, including motor vehicle owners, financial institutions, insurance companies, motorcycle dealers, organizations, embassies, missions, departments, and agencies, are required to validate their accounts. This process involves logging into the eCitizen platform, adding specific organizations using their KRA pin number to ensure uninterrupted access to all NTSA services within the integrated system.

The integration of NTSA services into eCitizen marks a significant step towards digital transformation and centralized access to government services, simplifying procedures for individuals and businesses alike.
