Donald Trump has returned to the White House as U.S. President, starting his second term with swift action. Less than 24 hours after being sworn in, he signed more than ten new policies. His inauguration in Washington, D.C., drew a large audience, including notable figures like Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk. Trump’s victory in the recent elections surprised many, as he defeated Kamala Harris with 312 electoral votes despite controversies surrounding his past term, impeachment history, and legal troubles.
The president wasted no time pushing his agenda. Among his immediate actions was granting pardons to over 1,500 individuals involved in the January 6th Capitol riot. He also moved to end automatic birthright citizenship, withdrew the U.S. from the World Health Organization (WHO), and rolled back protections for transgender troops. Trump shut down CBP One, barring nearly a million migrants from entry, and revoked Joe Biden’s executive order on regulating artificial intelligence. Additionally, he reintroduced strict gender policies, withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement, and issued orders to increase energy production.
Trump’s bold decisions have sparked intense debate both at home and abroad. Critics question moves like delaying the TikTok ban, renaming the Gulf of Mexico, and mandating in-person work for federal employees. Supporters, however, applaud his focus on energy independence and national security. Serving alongside Vice President JD Vance, Trump’s four-year term promises to be as polarizing as his first. While the nation braces for what’s ahead, one thing is certain: Trump’s presidency remains as unpredictable as ever.
